The Piedmont Approach

Every pet deserves to feel safe, loved, and completely at home.

Fear Free Methods · Genuine Expertise · Real Compassion

My story

With over 20 years of experience working with animals, I've built my career on one simple belief:

every pet deserves to feel safe, loved, and completely at home — even when you're not there.

My journey began in dog daycare — where I quickly learned that no two dogs are alike, and that's exactly what makes this work so wonderful. Over time it grew into something much deeper. I studied positive reinforcement training in New York City and have built my entire approach around Fear Free principles, meaning your pet's emotional wellbeing is every bit as important to me as their physical care.

I have a particular soft spot for fearful and anxious dogs, senior pets, and those with complex medical needs — the ones who need a little extra patience and a lot of extra love.

A special place in my heart

The ones who need a little more.

Fearful dogs. Senior pets. Complex medical needs. They're not the hard cases — they're my favorites.

🐕

Fearful & Anxious Dogs

I've built my entire approach around Fear Free principles — so nervous, shy, or reactive dogs are met with patience, calm, and zero pressure.

🐾

Senior Pets

Cooper and Scout absolutely do not know they're seniors — and that energy is contagious. Older pets get all the gentleness and extra love they deserve.

💊

Medically Complex Needs

My veterinary assistant background means pets on medications — oral, injectable, or topical — are in confident, capable hands. Routines stay on track.

Life at home

Animals are my greatest joy.

At home, I share my life with two rescue kitties, Archer and Bijou, who mostly supervise, and two senior rescue pups, Cooper and Scout, who have absolutely no idea they're seniors. Animals are my greatest joy, and that joy is something I bring wholeheartedly to every pet in my care.

My crew

The family at home

Archer — rescue kitty, chief supervisor
Bijou — rescue kitty, co-supervisor
Cooper — senior rescue pup, has no idea
Scout — senior rescue pup, equally oblivious
Off the clock

When I'm not with pets

When I'm not with pets, you'll find me reading, catching live music, nerding out about cheese, and tending to my herb and tomato garden while Cooper and Scout remind me it's time for a walk.
